The Medical Assistant will support outpatient clinic operations by performing clinical and administrative duties within a large healthcare team. Reporting primarily to physicians, nurse managers, office managers, and nurse practitioners/physician assistants, this role requires strong clinical skills, patient care expertise, and effective communication. There is an opportunity for career growth into an Office Manager position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient intake and gather medical histories
• Measure and record vital signs accurately
• Manage and maintain medical records and electronic health records (EHR)
• Administer injections and perform phlebotomy as needed
• Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance coverage
• Educate patients on procedures, treatments, and health maintenance
• Sterilize medical equipment to maintain infection control standards
• Assist clinical staff during examinations and procedures

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in medical assisting
• Associate Degree in Medical Assisting or related field
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and patient care techniques
• Strong knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Skill in measuring vital signs and administering injections
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
