Job description

Job Summary

This position exists to manage the functions on the Materials group as it relates to the Warehouse, inbound and outbound shipments, and ensuring all product received and shipped is correct and meeting all of the customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Stores and ships product by developing warehousing policies and procedures; implementing inventory movement systems; developing traffic and shipping policies and procedures; examining and resolving delays.
  • Provides management control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Works with Controller to controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling within ERP System
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by assisting with annual budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Monitor, process, and manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) production orders to ensure accurate and timely demand visibility. Coordinate order confirmations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain data integrity between internal systems and customer requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and place purchase orders for raw materials, components, and consumables required to support production operations. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material availability while balancing inventory levels.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate picking, staging, and issuance of materials to the production floor. Ensure parts are pulled according to production schedules, bill of material, and work orders, while maintaining inventory accuracy and production flow.
  • Manage and release blanket purchase orders based on customer orders and production requirements. Communicate release schedules to suppliers, track confirmations, and adjust releases as needed to support changing production priorities.

Education / Experience / Skills

An advanced degree with at least 5 years' experience in manufacturing/automotive warehouse is required (or a combination). Prior knowledge of Microsoft office along with excellent communication, written, math, analytical, and problem solving skills is also required. Forklift and stand-up reach truck experience is required. Working knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Systems) is preferred.
