Thoughtfully restored from a beloved former community school, Pleasant Vista brings together weddings, private celebrations, executive retreats, overnight accommodations, wellness experiences, and estate dining. Our hospitality is relaxed yet refined, deeply connected to the land, and infused with a Tuscan soul.
Employment: Full-time or Part-time; a substantial flexible arrangement may be considered for a highly experienced candidate.
Compensation: $55,000-$67,000 annually or approximately $26-$32/hour, depending on experience, schedule
commitment, and scope.
The opportunity
Pleasant Vista is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to turn our simple-yet-elegant, garden-to-table philosophy into consistent daily execution. Working with the Executive Chef and ownership, this person will organize production, direct the
kitchen team, and take operational command of weddings, retreats, tastings, private dining, and estate events. The role is especially important when the Executive Chef is working under a flexible arrangement.
What you will do
 Run daily savory-kitchen production and lead assigned events onsite from preparation through kitchen reset.
 Translate menus and event details into purchasing needs, prep lists, station assignments, timelines, counts,
and plating procedures.
 Supervise and train line cooks and prep support while maintaining calm, clear communication.
 Execute and quality-check proteins, sauces, vegetables, starches, hors d'oeuvres, and composed plates.
 Control timing, seasoning, temperature, portioning, presentation, buffet replenishment, and special-diet execution.
 Maintain strong sanitation, inventory, receiving, waste-control, labeling, storage, and closing standards.

What we are looking for
 Meaningful professional cooking and leadership experience in catering, banquets, hotels, resorts, clubs, or fine dining.
 Demonstrated ability to lead both advance production and live service for substantial events.
 Strong organization, knife skills, protein and sauce execution, timing, and multi-station awareness.
 Dependable availability for production days, evenings, weekends, and selected holidays according to the event
calendar.
