Job description

PHA Michigan LLC is seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager within the automotive industry to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI. This position is responsible for leading CRM (customer relation management) activities and supporting technical sales activities to drive business growth in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and customer-facing experience.

  • Essential Functions

    Manage programs/projects through the full commercial life cycle (i.e. RFQ phase to mass production, EOP and service parts) including the management of price, LTA, ECR, EWO, PO, Accounts Receivable, Payment Discrepancy Resolution, Direct Buy Component, obsolesce material cost and so on for commercial and timing impact.

    Lead negotiation with key customers to resolve commercial issues to collaborate with the global cross functional teams.

    Lead, manage and submit quotations by having cost analysis ability.

    Develop productive business relationships with key, cross-functional personnel across all levels of the organization with your assigned customers.

    Develops and implements account strategies in accordance with the company’s and the product line’s goals and strategies.

    Tactical and operational planning with Regional Sales Director and Global sales team in Head Quarters to determine primary objectives within regional CDP (Customer Development Plan).

    Develop long-term and short-term business plans and CDP to achieve company’s objectives.

    Support execution of technical sales activities to grow in the US Automotive market.

    Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by the company management in accordance with KPI’s.

    Conducts market research, analyzing trends and VOC (voice of customer) to identify new opportunities.

    Sales performance monitoring and reporting to Regional Sales Directors and Global Sales team in HQ: Track and report on sales metrics, including revenue, pipeline development, and customer satisfaction & claims. Analyze sales data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary.

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    Excellent skills with MS Office (i.e. prefer those with diverse Excel macro and function usage skills) and SAP.

    Experience working with or interacting with large global international companies.

    Experience working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives.

    Excellent interpersonal, communication, program management and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate, and work with other regions and locations.

    Experience in sales, business development, or account management, and experience to develop and execute strategic sales plans, including market analysis, sales forecasting, and pricing strategies.

    Experience with product management or program management is a plus.

    Knowledge of commercial issue management such as: pre-production components, contract negotiations, purchasing orders, pricing, tooling, engineering changes and supply chain development.

    Ability to conduct market research and analyze data effectively.

    Fast learning skills with passion for learning.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Business.

    6-8 years of experience in a technical sales Manager or assistant Manager position at Tier 1 supplier to OEM (GM, Ford, Stellantis, etc.) experience preferred.

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

    Physical requirements
  • Sitting for extended periods (e.g., working at a computer, attending meetings).
  • Standing and walking, especially during plant tours, meetings on the production floor, or customer site visits.
  • Occasional lifting (up to ~ 30lbs).
