Job description
Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Senior Automotive Mechanics for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. Senior Automotive Mechanics will be modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Senior Automotive Mechanic will mentor and oversee team members’ technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met. This Full-time Senior Automotive Mechanics position is based out of Allen Park, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Senior Automotive Mechanics position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
- Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs
- Lead daily shop organization and clean-up
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic in a professional setting (Engine R amp;R, electrical diagnostics amp; repair, blueprint/schematic reading, transmission rebuilds, powertrain diagnostics and repairs, etc.)
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to mentor and train others
- Must have own tools with rolling toolbox
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
Preferred Skills:
- Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
- State Mechanic Certification(s)
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
