Job description

PBSGC is seeking an experienced Field Engineer that is willing to work in the Louisiana area and surrounding states as assigned.ResponsibilitiesManagement of construction projects to include engineering and layout, leadership of personnel, and management of assets including vessels, barges and equipmentCoordinating mobilization of crew, equipment and materials Responsible for assigned assets including vessels, barges, equipment and materialsThorough knowledge of the project plans and specificationsPromotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediatelyEnsures all PBSGC employees and contractors are adhering to PBSGC's safety cultureDaily reports and additional required written communicationConduct performance evaluations of crew personnelProvide proactive and intentional leadership in developing the safety culture on the project site Coach, mentor and train team members Support and encourage team member's learning and developmentQualificationsExperience with working in a marine environment on the inland waterway and especially the Mississippi River is not required but beneficialUndergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is preferred but experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. Undergraduates of all experience levels and with a varied background of construction training will be consideredCivil construction management experience in addition to the above education and/or experience of at least five years is required.
