The Park Ridge Park District is seeking an individual at the Oakton Sports Complex who is responsible to oversee the custodial services, general facility maintenance which include general carpentry, heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, Zamboni operation and ice maintenance. Will also repair/replace and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, perform snow removal and maintain operational reports. Performs the physical repairs and maintenance of these areas. This position supervises full-time, part-time and seasonal staff to achieve the departments’ standards and goals. Position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 73.


 Qualifications:  Four to five years of related facility maintenance work experience including a combination of supervisory in the filed leadership in a maintenance environment.   A background in ice maintenance is preferred but not required. The ability to maintain a positive work relationship with staff and the public is essential.  A successful candidate will be collaborative, supportive and open to ideas. Must be at least 18 years of age to operate equipment and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Post-offer physical capacity testing, including a lift assessment, is required. Must possess the ability to learn skills to properly operate an ice resurfacer (i.e. Zamboni) within three months. A valid Illinois Driver’s License in order perform as a District Driver is required.


Education:  Two to three years of occupationally specific training beyond a High School Diploma/G.E.D. or Associate’s degree.


Availability:  Typical work-week is daytime 5:00am-1:30pm, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Times may vary based on operational needs. Occasional evening, weekends, and holidays as needed to successfully carry out the essential functions of the job. The schedule may shift back slightly depending on the needs of the District with opening/closing of the facility.
