About the Role

We’re hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager for Gold Cap Hospitality in Iowa City, IA. This is a great fit for an experienced restaurant professional who can lead shifts, support a team and keep service running smoothly in a busy environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead opening, closing and service shifts
• Welcome guests and ensure a positive dining experience
• Assign positions and adjust staffing during service
• Coach and direct restaurant employees
• Maintain food, beverage, cleanliness and service standards
• Handle guest concerns professionally
• Complete cash-handling and shift reports accurately
• Communicate important updates to restaurant leadership
• Step in wherever the team needs support

What We’re Looking For

• Previous restaurant experience required (1–2 years of experience preferred)
• Management or shift-lead experience is a plus
• Experienced servers, bartenders or hosts ready to take on more responsibility are encouraged to apply
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to stay calm and make decisions during busy shifts
• Evening, weekend and holiday availability required
