Job description

Position Overview

Life and Wellness Services is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist specializing in orthopedic care to join our team in Sanford, Florida. This full-time position requires a compassionate professional focused on enhancing the quality of life for individuals experiencing physical limitations, disabilities, or health changes resulting from various causes such as accidents or diseases. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering personalized therapy interventions, evaluations, and tailored treatment plans that aim to achieve optimal functional outcomes for our patients.

About the Organization

Life and Wellness Services is a premier outpatient rehabilitation facility located in the picturesque Sanford area, known for its commitment to patient-centered care and overall wellness. Our multidisciplinary team is devoted to providing high-quality services that promote healing and empower patients to achieve independence and mobility. We utilize evidence-based practices and the latest therapeutic technologies to address a broad range of orthopedic conditions. Our collaborative environment supports professional growth and shared learning.

Work Environment

This role is performed onsite in our outpatient office, which is designed to facilitate a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our patients. You will work alongside a team of healthcare professionals including physicians, occupational therapists, and healthcare specialists. Life and Wellness Services promotes a supportive work culture that enables our staff to focus solely on their practice, ensuring ample time to care for patients without the burden of excessive administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients by gathering vital information from multiple sources, including medical histories, assessments from physicians, insights from family members, and interdisciplinary team discussions when applicable.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that align with the patients' needs, integrating specific goals and objectives to guide the therapy process and enhance their rehabilitation journey.
  • Utilize diverse treatment methodologies that demonstrate an understanding of the physical therapy principles and skills required to effectively treat and manage orthopedic injuries.
  • Offer education and support to patients and their families regarding their conditions and the therapeutic processes, promoting better understanding and compliance with treatment protocols.
  • Continuously assess and make adjustments to treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback, ensuring that the therapeutic objectives are met efficiently.
  • Monitor progress and communicate with the healthcare team to provide updates on patient status, adapting interventions as necessary to optimize health outcomes.
  • Uphold the highest standards of practice by following all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with state regulations and best practices in physical therapy.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information to uphold the standard of care and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate paperwork while committing to regular attendance and punctuality in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Exhibit proficiency in operating therapeutic and diagnostic equipment, adhering to safety protocols while explaining each piece of equipment's function to patients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on patients dealing with orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to post-operative care, sports injuries, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal disorders. Our therapists foster a supportive and understanding environment that respects individual patient circumstances while engaging them in a collaborative therapeutic process tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program in physical therapy.
  • Holding a valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida, with a temporary permit acceptable for new graduates awaiting full licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, ensuring preparedness for any medical emergencies.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or outpatient therapy settings is preferred to enhance your capability in addressing complex cases effectively. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and experience working in multidisciplinary teams will also be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time Physical Therapist position offers a competitive yearly salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes professional liability insurance, life and disability insurance, a complete medical, dental, and vision insurance plan, minimal paperwork requirements, and access to an employee assistance program focused on mental health and well-being.

Career Growth Opportunities

Life and Wellness Services is committed to the professional development of our staff, providing ongoing training, continuing education incentives, and opportunities for advancement within our organization. We encourage our team members to take an active role in attending workshops, seminars, and pursuing specialized certifications to further their careers in physical therapy.

Why Join Our Team

By joining Life and Wellness Services, you will immerse yourself in a fulfilling work environment that prioritizes compassion, teamwork, and excellence in healthcare delivery. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and the community while enhancing your professional skills and career trajectory within a supportive organization.
