Job Title: Assistant Office Manager – Adult Day Program for Individuals with Developmental & Mental Disabilities

At our Adult Day Program, we provide a structured, compassionate adult day program for individuals with developmental and mental disabilities. Licensed by the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS), our mission is to deliver high-quality care and meaningful programming that promotes independence, socialization, and personal growth.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and driven Assistant Director to lead all aspects of our adult day program. This role is responsible for program operations, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, participant care, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who inspires and motivates their team, ensures operational excellence, and is proactive in increasing program census and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with DMH, DHSS, and Medicaid requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage and oversee all staff, including hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and evaluating performance.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that supports staff retention, accountability, and morale.
  • Lead day-to-day operations, including activity flow, documentation, transportation coordination, and participant engagement.
  • Oversee participant intake, assessments, individual goal planning, and progress documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as the lead contact for state inspections, audits, and licensing reviews.
  • Monitor and manage safety protocols, incident reporting, and overall program quality.
  • Take ownership of participant census and program growth, including referrals, outreach, and collaboration with external partners.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, families, staff, community providers, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  •  Excellent computer and organizational skills are essential for this positiom
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in a developmental disability, or mental health setting.
  • Working knowledge of Missouri DMH and DHSS regulations and procedures.
  • Proven leadership ability to coach, direct, and support teams with professionalism and compassion.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in census development, community outreach, and referral networking is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Missouri driver’s license and successful completion of background checks.
