Job description

Home > Jobs > Lead Planner / Project Controls Analyst – DOE Environmental Management

Overview

This position has a hard requirement: direct experience on a DOE EM FAR-based Tier 1 contract within the last 24 months.

If that is you, you’ll serve as a senior project controls resource embedded with Control Account Managers (CAMs) on infrastructure projects, ensuring EVMS data integrity and compliance with the approved Earned Value Management System Description. Day to day, that means building and maintaining integrated master schedules, developing ETCs, running variance analysis, and presenting cost and schedule performance to senior leadership.

Specifically: developing and controlling resource-loaded IMS in Primavera P6, supporting baseline change proposals and contract change orders, participating in Internal Change Control Board (ICCB) and DOE change control meetings, preparing life-cycle cost estimates, and supporting bids, REAs, and material take-offs.

Duties
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project schedules using advanced project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and PPM software to ensure timely delivery aligned with project scope and objectives
  • Lead program development efforts by defining scope, establishing milestones, and integrating work breakdown structures (WBS) for complex environmental projects
  • Implement rigorous project controls including earned value management (EVM), cost control, risk management, and schedule variance analysis to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to accurately capture project needs and translate them into actionable plans using business process modeling and process mapping techniques
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and Kaizen events to identify inefficiencies, implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and drive continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Oversee project stakeholder communication by preparing comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards that clearly articulate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to project controls activities while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Recent DOE EM / FAR-based Tier 1 contract experience (within 24 months)
Details
  • Remote / work from home – 1 planned trip per year to Los Alamos National Laboratory
  • Full-time, W2
  • Proven IMS development and maintenance experience
  • EVMS compliance experience (DOE EM standards preferred)
  • EPC background (engineering, procurement, construction or remediation)
  • Ability to travel annually to Los Alamos, NM

Join us to lead transformative environmental projects that make a difference! Your expertise will help shape sustainable solutions while advancing your career in a collaborative and innovative environment.
