The Marketing Communications Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely execution of complex communication programs. This position serves as a subject matter expert, managing workflows, vendor relationships, and compliance requirements to deliver high-quality marketing and transactional communications. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities while driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives. Collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential for success in this dynamic role.
The Marketing Communication Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and oversight of complex programs and workflows. Acting as a subject matter expert within the team, this role leads the execution of procedures necessary to meet business partner needs. The Specialist ensures adherence to service level agreements, performance guarantees, and client expectations for supported products. Responsibilities include steady-state workflow management, issue resolution, and process improvement initiatives.
Success in this role requires sound judgment, resourcefulness, initiative, and strong collaboration skills. The ability to multi-task, think creatively, and proactively assist where needed is essential. Teamwork, clear communication, and problem-solving are critical when managing complex workflows and products.
This position is full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST.
We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of marketing and transactional communications through vendor management and print production support
  • Meet workflow deadlines, compliance requirements, client expectations, SLAs, and overall program goals for assigned products
  • Maintain effective communication with business partners, vendors, and team members to manage workflow expectations and deliver on commitments
  • Identify risks and implement solutions to minimize impact
  • Develop and maintain workflow documentation and reporting
  • Assist with resource planning and monitor daily activities for assigned programs / products
  • Create and execute clear plans for program delivery, adjusting as needed to ensure success and mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with team members and analysts to maintain accurate metrics and reporting, including distribution of program details
  • Support training initiatives and related documentation as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Specialist-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and innovative solutions for communication print delivery
  • Support one or more work streams with standard to complex workflow requirements
  • Assist with vendor migration efforts and new product implementations
  • Implement new procedures for assigned workflows and maintain supporting documentation

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 4+ years of project and / OR account management experience
  • 2+ years of experience with supporting mailroom operations, print production, document processing, OR fulfillment services
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (Domestic)
  • Ability to work any of our full time (40 hours / week), shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST from Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Healthcare industry and / OR UnitedHealth Group experience
  • Experience with managing financial requests and associated inputs (cost-benefit analysis, business case development)
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to achieve desired outcomes
  • Presentation, time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations

Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $60,200 - $107,400 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
