Position Summary

The Warehouse Receiving Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily warehouse operations related to receipt of raw materials, unloading, inspection, and storage. The role directs Team Members, assigns work, monitors performance, and ensures work is completed according to established company standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures. This position exercises independent judgment in directing work, handling personnel matters, prioritizing workflow, and ensuring operational effectiveness consistent with an exempt supervisory role.


Key Responsibilities

Direct and supervise daily work of Team Members

Assign tasks and ensure timely completion of work

Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback

Support hiring, disciplinary input, and development planning

Ensure compliance with OSHA, food safety, SQF, and company policies

Coordinate workflow to meet production and customer requirements

Ensure accurate inventory transactions and material handling

Support continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements

Promote accountability and safe work practices

Coordinate with Production, Transportation, Purchasing, and Finance

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience in warehouse or logistics environment
  • Experience directing or coordinating work of hourly Team Members
  • Working knowledge of inventory and warehouse operations
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions within established guidelines
  • Ability to balance labor efficiency with service requirements


Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in warehouse environment
  • Regular exposure to material handling equipment and moving machinery
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures depending on season or storage areas
  • Frequent presence on warehouse floor to direct work activities
  • Schedule flexibility required to support operational needs.


Environmental Conditions – Food Safety Zones

Work may occur in or around food production and storage areas subject to SQF and food safety requirements

Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) including handwashing, hair restraints, beard restraints, and protective clothing as required

May be required to follow allergen control, cross-contamination prevention, and hygienic zoning procedures

Restrictions may apply to jewelry, personal items, cosmetics, and fingernails in designated food safety zones

May be required to work in temperature-controlled environments including refrigerated or dry storage areas

Must follow sanitation, pest control, and product protection procedures

May be required to participate in food safety training and audits

Must comply with company policies related to product safety, legality, and quality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders
  • Ability to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate or work around forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
