About the Role

Build Accuracy. Drive Clarity. Power Care.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Medical Billing Specialist to support the financial operations that make their mission possible helping children and families thrive.

You'll play a key role in ensuring that billing, claims, and payments are handled with precision, professionalism, and care. As a senior member of the billing team, you'll manage complex cases, guide colleagues, and help maintain the accuracy and efficiency that keep a multi-disciplinary pediatric practice running smoothly.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims for therapy services
  • Monitor claim status, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and work directly with insurance carriers to resolve issues
  • Process secondary claims and coordinate billing for patient out-of-pocket expenses
  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and ensure proper documentation before services are provided
  • Communicate with patients to explain balances, resolve billing questions, and assist with payment plans
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and maintain organized records of billing activity, payments, and correspondence
  • Support and guide other billing team members in handling complex or unusual billing situations
  • Stay current with insurance and HIPAA regulations, sharing updates to ensure team compliance
  • Collaborate with therapists, administrative staff, and leadership to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in medical billing, preferably in a therapy or healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of insurance verification, coding, pre-authorizations, claim submission, and appeals
  • High attention to detail with strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Problem-solver who takes initiative and works well both independently and collaboratively
  • Preferred: Associate degree or certification in medical billing and coding

What Our Client Offers

  • Competitive pay and benefits package
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (with HSA option)
  • Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous paid time off and holidays
  • Ongoing professional development and advancement opportunities
  • A collaborative culture that values integrity, accuracy, and impact

Why Our Client?

Every role contributes directly to the quality of care delivered. Join a mission-driven team and help ensure every claim and every family is cared for with excellence.
