Job description

The Hospital Operations Manager provides administrative leadership and operational support through the independent management of financial and operational activities across the hospital environment. This role is accountable for the performance, deliverables, and outcomes of assigned operational programs and initiatives while partnering with executive and department leadership to drive operational excellence. The successful candidate will oversee budgets, performance improvement initiatives, operational planning, capital acquisition efforts, and strategic initiatives that enhance patient care delivery across the continuum of care. The position also serves as a key operational liaison with external partners and stakeholders.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Provide internal consulting services to leaders regarding business cases, operational planning, resource allocation, contracting, and financial analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and department leaders on short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
  • Lead operational, growth, and performance improvement projects while ensuring successful implementation, KPI tracking, and achievement of project outcomes.
  • Coordinate and manage hospital operations functions during the planning, development, and implementation of key initiatives.
  • Develop, administer, and monitor departmental budgets and operational performance metrics.
  • Analyze operational and financial performance, identify variances, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members, providing performance feedback, recruitment support, onboarding, and professional development opportunities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify and resolve complex operational, financial, and business challenges while supporting organizational growth and innovation.
  • Serve as a key operational contact for external partnerships and collaborations that advance City of Hope's mission.

Your qualifications should include: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of business management experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience in supervision, team leadership, program management, or project leadership.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively across departments without direct reporting authority.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Master's degree in Health Administration preferred.
