Job description

A well-established, privately owned engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Daytona Beach office and work across Florida’s growing coastal market.

This is a unique opportunity to build expertise in coastal building restoration, structural assessments, and weatherproofing while working directly with building owners, contractors, and project stakeholders.

The role offers a strong mix of field inspections, engineering, client consultation, project management, and construction oversight — ideal for a self-motivated engineer who enjoys being involved throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Do
  • Conduct building condition assessments and field inspections
  • Develop condition reports, repair recommendations, and project budgets
  • Consult with building owners and provide practical project solutions
  • Prepare and manage competitive contractor bid processes
  • Develop bid packages and project documentation
  • Oversee construction projects, budgets, progress, and quality
  • Work closely with contractors and project stakeholders
  • Build long-term client and contractor relationships
  • Support new project opportunities and business development
What We're Looking For
  • Structural engineering experience with buildings and/or concrete structures
  • Florida PE preferred; EIs approaching PE licensure are encouraged to apply
  • Experience with structural restoration, building assessments, rehabilitation, or building envelope work is an asset
  • Exposure to prestressed/precast, cast-in-place, or post-tensioned concrete
  • Experience with structural repairs, waterproofing, coatings, roofing, windows, doors, or railings is beneficial
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable balancing field and office-based work
Why Consider the Opportunity?
  • Develop expertise in a specialized and growing industry
  • Work across a variety of technically interesting restoration projects
  • Gain exposure to engineering, clients, contractors, and project management
  • Vehicle allowance and gas reimbursement
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k)
  • Performance bonus
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Relocation assistance available

Software exposure: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and related project/field management platforms.

If you're a structural engineer looking for a role that combines technical work, field experience, client interaction, and project management, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
