Job description

Job Summary:
Oneida ESC Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Technology & Logistics Support Services contract at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position is responsible for protecting information systems and networks through the implementation of cybersecurity policies and continuous monitoring activities.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Support the security and protection of information systems, networks, applications, and data assets.
โ€ข Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems.
โ€ข Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including security assessments, authorization packages, and continuous monitoring efforts.
โ€ข Conduct vulnerability assessments and security reviews to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
โ€ข Develop and recommend information system security policies, procedures, and security controls.
โ€ข Monitor and respond to cybersecurity incidents, investigate security events, and coordinate remediation activities.
โ€ข Support Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) mitigation, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
โ€ข Configure, maintain, and monitor cybersecurity technologies including endpoint protection, intrusion detection systems, anti-malware solutions, and related security tools.
โ€ข Administer and maintain Host-Based Security System (HBSS) capabilities and related security platforms.
โ€ข Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities and security concerns.
โ€ข Research emerging cybersecurity technologies and recommend solutions that strengthen the organization's security posture.
โ€ข Collaborate with network engineers, systems administrators, developers, and government stakeholders to ensure cybersecurity compliance and operational effectiveness.
โ€ข Develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, reports, and compliance artifacts.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Experience supporting cybersecurity, information assurance, or information security programs in a professional environment.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements.
โ€ข Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, security reviews, and risk analyses.
โ€ข Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance policies, standards, and guidance, including DoDI 8500-series requirements.
โ€ข Experience supporting IAVA mitigation, validation, testing, and implementation activities.
โ€ข Experience configuring and administering cybersecurity technologies such as intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection platforms, anti-malware solutions, and related security tools.
โ€ข Experience maintaining and supporting Host-Based Security System (HBSS) environments.
โ€ข Experience conducting incident response, risk assessments, and cybersecurity remediation efforts.
โ€ข Knowledge of security controls, compliance requirements, and cybersecurity best practices.
โ€ข Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
โ€ข CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
โ€ข Experience supporting Department of Defense, military, or federal government cybersecurity programs.
โ€ข Experience with eMASS, ACAS, SIEM platforms, vulnerability management tools, and continuous monitoring programs.
โ€ข Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity frameworks and security control implementation.
โ€ข Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) packages and cybersecurity compliance initiatives.
โ€ข Knowledge of cloud security concepts and hybrid infrastructure environments.
