Director of Human Resources

Location: Remote (U.S. Based) Employment Type: Full-Time


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of our people operations. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that align with business objectives while fostering a high-performance, employee-centered culture.

The ideal candidate is comfortable building HR infrastructure in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic leadership with day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and execute the company's overall HR strategy
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational planning and workforce strategy
  • Build scalable HR programs that support company growth
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations and organizational effectiveness

Talent Acquisition

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for technical and corporate positions
  • Develop recruiting strategies to attract top talent
  • Manage external recruiting agencies and hiring vendors
  • Improve interview processes and hiring quality
  • Develop onboarding programs for new employees

Performance Management

  • Design and administer performance review processes
  • Develop KPI and goal-setting frameworks
  • Coach managers on employee development
  • Support succession planning and leadership development

Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance on employee concerns and conflict resolution
  • Conduct workplace investigations when necessary
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies
  • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture

Compensation & Benefits

  • Develop competitive compensation strategies
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and market analysis
  • Partner with Finance on compensation planning
  • Manage employee benefits programs and vendor relationships

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation
  • Update employee handbook and company policies
  • Oversee HR audits and regulatory compliance

HR Operations

  • Implement and optimize HR systems and processes
  • Maintain accurate employee data and reporting
  • Develop HR dashboards and workforce metrics
  • Analyze trends to support executive decision-making

Culture & Engagement

  • Develop employee engagement initiatives
  • Lead recognition and retention programs
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing remote work environment

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years in an HR leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws
  • Experience supporting remote teams
  • Experience recruiting technical and corporate professionals
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and project management abilities
