We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer for our partner, a growing precision manufacturing team focused on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing CMM programs, supporting first article and production inspections, and partnering with Quality and Manufacturing teams to ensure parts are produced right the first time. The ideal candidate brings strong ZEISS Calypso programming experience, a solid understanding of GD&T, and a proactive mindset in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, optimize, and maintain high-quality CMM programs using ZEISS Calypso software
    • Program and support inspections on ZEISS Contura CMM equipment with multiple probe configurations
    • Prove out CMM programs, validate results, and make adjustments for accuracy and repeatability
    • Create inspection plans and balloon engineering drawings for dimensional verification
    • Interpret blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and GD&T callouts to build effective inspection routines
    • Analyze CMM reports, measurement data, and inspection trends to identify issues and recommend corrective actions
    • Support First Article Inspections (FAI), PPAP, capability studies, and validation activities to meet customer and internal quality requirements
    • Troubleshoot dimensional nonconformances and collaborate with Machining, Engineering, and Quality teams on root cause analysis
    • Verify fixture setups, alignment strategies, and probing methods for complex components
    • Ensure measurement systems are efficient, repeatable, and aligned with quality standards
    • Assist in reducing inspection cycle times while maintaining measurement integrity
    • Maintain organized program revisions, documentation, and inspection records
    • Support calibration activities and ensure gauges / measuring equipment are used properly
    • Provide technical guidance to inspectors, machinists, and production personnel regarding measurement methods and print interpretation
    • Recommend process improvements that enhance quality, throughput, and manufacturability

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years of hands-on ZEISS Calypso programming experience required
    • Experience programming and operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment
    • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD data
    • Solid understanding of GD&T and dimensional metrology principles
    • Experience with advanced inspection concepts including profile tolerances, true position, MMC/LMC, and complex geometries
    • Ability to analyze inspection data and solve dimensional or process-related issues
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across Quality, Engineering, and Production
    • Proven ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiarity with machining processes, especially 4-axis and 5-axis milling, preferred
    • Experience supporting FAI, PPAP, SPC, or capability studies preferred
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
