Seeking: Beverage Manager/Mixologist


Old Warson Country Club is a golf-centric, social, and family-oriented Club located

20 miles west of downtown St. Louis. The Club offers a premier golf course to its

600 members, outstanding year-round dining 6 days a week, banquet events, an

outdoor pool offering full-service dining, outdoor tennis courts, and pickleball

courts. The Club is rich with history and tradition, and through the years has hosted

national and international championship events including the 1971 Ryder Cup, and 3

important U.S.G.A. National Championships... the 1999 U.S. Mid-Amateur, 2009

U.S. Women’s Amateur, and the 2016 U.S. Senior Amateur.


Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage

Supervises: Ala Carte, Bar & Banquet Staff

Educational Qualifications: A degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management is

preferred

Date Position Available: Mid-August


Brief Job Description:

Responsible for the day-to-day food & beverage operations with an emphasis on

beverage management. Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting with

beverage inventory, ordering, hiring, on boarding, training, direction and supervision

of bartenders and front house employees.


Job Responsibilities:


Beverage Program Management

Assist in the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the club’s

beverage program across all outlets (a la carte, bars, pool, and banquets).

Maintain accurate beverage recipes, pour standards, and presentation guidelines to

ensure consistency and quality.

Monitor beverage storage, including cellar and keg management and keep areas clean

and organized.

Inventory & Purchasing

Assist in beverage ordering on a weekly basis for all outlets and banquet events,

receive orders and check for accuracy

Ensure accurate inventory counts and assist with monthly beverage inventories and

reporting.

Ensure beverage pricing is accurately set based on purchase costs to maximize

profitability and support a sustainable revenue stream


Service & Member Experience

Provide visible, hands-on leadership during service periods to ensure exceptional

beverage service and member satisfaction.

Address member feedback and service recovery promptly and professionally, with a

focus on enhancing the overall club experience.

Ensure beverage service standards meet or exceed club expectations, including speed

of service, product knowledge, and hospitality.

Support private events, banquets, and member functions by overseeing beverage

execution and staffing.

Staff Training & Development

Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising bar and beverage service staff.

Conduct ongoing beverage education for staff, including wine knowledge, cocktail

preparation, responsible alcohol service, and up selling techniques.

Enforce adherence to service standards, grooming, and professionalism at all times.

Foster a positive team culture focused on accountability, hospitality, and continuous

improvement.


Operations & Leadership Support

Support the Food & Beverage Manager in daily operations and act as Manager-on-

Duty as assigned. Assist with scheduling and labor management to align staffing levels with business

volume.


Candidate Qualifications:

The candidate must be committed to providing superior service, enthusiasm,

personable, highly driven, detail oriented, strong work ethic, a high degree of

integrity, communicate effectively and lead by example.

The candidate should be experienced in all aspects of the food and beverage

operation including training, supervision, computer skills, inventory control, menu

preparation and have wine knowledge.

The candidate should have previous experience within a luxury hotel environment

high volume food & beverage operations or within a private club or country club

setting for a minimum of two years.

The candidate should have experience managing other staff with a team size of 5-10

direct reports.
