Job description

Join Our Team at Okeechobee Healthcare Facility!

Okeechobee Healthcare Facility is seeking an experienced and motivated Dietary Supervisor to join our Dietary Services team. The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for assisting by overseeing the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role is for evening and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct dietary staff during daily meal service.

  • Assist with scheduling, staffing, and training of dietary employees.

  • Ensure meals are prepared and served according to physician orders, therapeutic diets, and resident preferences.

  • Maintain compliance with Florida regulations, CMS requirements, and facility policies.

  • Monitor food quality, sanitation, and infection control practices.

  • Ensure proper food storage, handling, and temperature logs are maintained.

  • Conduct routine inspections of the kitchen and dining areas.

  • Assist with inventory management, ordering food and supplies, and controlling food costs.

  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, Nursing, and other departments to meet residents' nutritional needs.

  • Address resident and family concerns regarding food service.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory surveys.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare dietary department preferred.

  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Long-Term Care setting strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food safety, and sanitation standards.

  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work nights/weekends and holidays as needed.
