Job description

OC Health Wellness Group is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered, and highly motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to provide comprehensive primary care services in a collaborative outpatient medical practice. The PA will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage patients across the lifespan, focusing on preventive care, chronic disease management, acute illnesses, and pain management while promoting overall health and wellness.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories and physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide preventive healthcare services, including annual wellness visits, routine screenings, and health education.
  • Manage chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, and thyroid disorders.
  • Evaluate and manage patients experiencing acute and chronic pain conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and imaging results.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with California law and supervising physician protocols.
  • Perform office-based procedures within scope of practice.
  • Coordinate patient care with specialists, hospitals, home health agencies, and ancillary healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Educate patients regarding disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support wellness, weight management, and preventive medicine programs offered by the practice.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current California Physician Assistant license in good standing.
  • Current DEA registration and furnishing number (or ability to obtain).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of primary care experience preferred.
  • Experience in pain management, family medicine, internal medicine, or urgent care preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with supervising physicians and healthcare staff.
