Role Summary

Reporting to the VP, Growth, the Account Executive at Nucleus is a hunter and a closer, and loves the chase involved with finding and closing new business. You are a solution-selling oriented sales professional with IT/MSP sales experience. The right candidate will be a self-motivated, organized, and dynamic individual with excellent communication skills. You aren’t shy and have no issues picking up the phone and cold/warm calling prospective clients; you love 'getting out there' and attending events and promoting the Nucleus brand.

This role is prospecting-heavy, requiring copious amounts of ambition and drive. You’ll work closely with the VP, Growth and other members of the team with the expectation that you will fill the funnel on a quarterly basis and attain sales goals and targets. You own your funnel!

Our key growth markets are Vancouver and Toronto, and the ideal candidate will be located in one of those cities.

Key Responsibilities

Product and Market Knowledge

• Learn the Nucleus technology stack, service offerings, and value proposition to confidently represent all products and services.
• Develop a strong understanding of the MSP marketplace, including competitors, client needs, and how Nucleus differentiates itself.
• Translate technical services and solutions into clear, business-focused language for prospective clients.

Prospecting and Pipeline Development

• Proactively hunt for prospective Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) clients through cold calls, warm calls, email outreach, networking, referrals, events, and conferences.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales funnel by consistently identifying and engaging new business opportunities.
• Attend in-person meetings, events, and business development opportunities as needed to generate leads and grow market presence.

Sales and Revenue Growth

• Focus on closing net-new Managed Services clients with an emphasis on Monthly Recurring Revenue.
• Work toward achieving monthly sales targets through disciplined prospecting, follow-up, and deal progression.
• Present Nucleus services effectively to prospective clients, aligning solutions to their business and technology needs.
• Demonstrate a hunter mentality by actively seeking new opportunities and driving conversations toward qualified sales outcomes.

CRM and Pipeline Management

• Accurately log all sales activities, prospect interactions, follow-ups, and deal updates in HubSpot.
• Manage the sales pipeline to ensure opportunities are current, organized, and progressing appropriately.
• Maintain strong attention to detail in CRM records, activity tracking, and sales reporting.

Marketing and Brand Support

• Participate in marketing-related activities that support lead generation, brand awareness, and business growth.
• Support business development initiatives as directed to help expand the Nucleus brand and market reach.
• Represent Nucleus professionally in virtual, in-person, and community-facing settings.

Collaboration and Internal Communication

• Work independently while staying aligned with team members, leadership, and internal processes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support sales opportunities, client conversations, and solution alignment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, prospects, and team members across virtual and in-person channels.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in a Managed Services Provider and/or IT Services Company.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and client service skills.
• Hunter mentality – seeking new business is your passion.
• Self-motivated, high energy, and commitment to succeed.
• Ability to be successful in a remote-hybrid first company, but you have no problem being on-site for meetings and getting out there.
• Communication skills – you can take the bits/bytes and translate them into English.
• Ability to multi-task and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
• Proven track record to hunt and close Monthly Recurring Revenue clients and hit targets.
• Excellent communication skills (virtual and in person) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and alongside team members.
• Experience with HubSpot Sales Professional is an asset.

• A pipeline of qualified MRR opportunities is being created through proactive outbound activity, networking, events, and follow-up.
• Net-new Managed Services clients are being consistently closed in alignment with monthly sales targets.
• HubSpot is kept accurate and up to date, with all calls, emails, meetings, follow-ups, and deal stages properly logged.
• Prospects clearly understand Nucleus’ services, value proposition, and differentiation in the MSP marketplace.
• Sales conversations that are focused on business outcomes, not just technical features.
