Job description

Posting Job Duties:
The Department of Biology at Norfolk State University invites applications for a one-year term faculty position with the option for ongoing annual renewal at the rank of Instructor/Lecturer. We seek candidates who excel at teaching introductory level Anatomy & Physiology lectures and laboratories for pre-health majors. Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, serving as a champion for the biology program through positive interaction with prospective students, other NSU departments and the public.

About Norfolk State University:
Norfolk State University is a Historically Black University located in the city of Norfolk, Virginia. The Norfolk State campus enrollment is approximately 6,000 students, and the campus has a rich tradition of undergraduate teaching and research.

Minimum Qualifications:
1.MS in Biology or a closely related field with expertise in Anatomy & Physiology.

2.Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.

Additional Considerations:
3. Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field with expertise in Anatomy & Physiology preferred but not required.

4. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with faculty within and across departments.

5.Demonstrated ability to coordinate courses and laboratories with faculty and support staff.

Pay range: $55,000-$65,000
