Job description

RJH is a engineering firm specializing in delivering dam and reservoir projects from planning through construction. We are looking for a Construction Engineer to enhance the technical capabilities and capacity of our team. Our ideal candidate will have experience in construction of heavy civil and water resources projects coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills. This position would be ideal for an engineer desiring a mix of both field and office engineering.


Construction/Civil Engineer Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil, Construction, or Geological Engineering is preferred.
  • 0 to 5 years of progressive experience in construction of dams, levees, water resources, or heavy civil projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction techniques and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods.


Construction/Civil Engineer Job Description:

Work will include leading field engineering activities on construction project including interfacing with contractor, owner, and RJH engineering staff. Perform construction observations and inspection, respond to contractor requests for information, document construction activities, develop engineer directives, track work progress, and direct quality assurance activities. Position will require travel and temporary relocation to project sites for extended periods. When not in the field, work will include performing engineering analyses, civil design for dams and water resources projects, and developing construction drawings and specifications.
