Job Description
Basic responsibilities will include:
- Perform daily, hands-on Operations & Maintenance on vSphere 6.x infrastructure with an emphasis on tasks related to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure specifically Horizon (VDI) version 7
- Design of Cloud POD architecture
- Perform standard changes and provide escalation support for complex technical issues per ITIL methodologies
- Design, build, plan, and implement VMware-based virtual infrastructure in accordance with best practices for servers and desktops within global data centers and
- Provide input on existing system designs and automated processes improvements
- Experience defining standard operating procedures
- Experience with vMotion, DRS, HA, and other advanced vSphere features and toolsets
- Strong understanding of Microsoft-based technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Systems Center vCenter 6.5 experience
- Experience with native firewall within vCenter
Qualifications
- VCP 5/6 certification required - additional VMware training and certifications preferred
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years' experience in IT demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility and technological acumen
- 6+ years' experience with virtual server infrastructure management, support, and implementation in large-sized data centers
- Familiar with the following:
- Cisco UCS, HP or other Intel-based server hardware
- SAN technologies such as NetApp
- Strong analytic and research skills
