Our mission revolves around fostering a supportive environment where both counselors and clients can thrive. By combining innovative methods with compassionate care, we aim to offer transformative mental health services that cater to diverse communities and their specific needs.

Work Environment

As a remote organization, we prioritize flexibility in our work environment. Our virtual setup encourages work-life balance and allows team members to collaborate effectively, regardless of physical location. The outpatient office setting means that while the work primarily occurs from home, there may be opportunities for in-person meetings or workshops. We value open communication, utilize various digital tools for collaboration, and promote a culture of professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs, utilizing assessment tools to ensure accuracy in diagnosis.
  • Provide tailored one-on-one counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions, including support and psychoeducational groups, to create a safe and open forum for clients to share their experiences.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans, outlining goals and interventions specific to their unique situations.
  • Manage crisis situations by assessing risk and providing immediate intervention strategies, including coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by attending workshops and training to remain current with the latest mental health advancements and therapeutic techniques.
  • Work alongside other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Northwestern Behavioral Health serves a diverse client base, including individuals struggling with a wide variety of mental health challenges. We recognize the unique experiences of each client and aim to provide culturally responsive care that meets their distinct needs. By emphasizing empathy, active listening, and trust-building, the Licensed Mental Health Counselor will aid clients through their journeys toward recovery and well-being.

  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, ensuring expertise in the latest mental health practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Specializations or additional certifications in trauma therapy, addiction counseling, or family therapy are highly preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including those from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with digital therapeutic tools and telehealth platforms is advantageous given the remote nature of the role.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary between $80,000 and $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
