Job description

Job Title: Northview Students Event Coordinator
Category: Central Staff
Supervisor: Family Ministry Pastor
Classification: Full-time, exempt
Purpose of the Role
The Northview Students Event Coordinator's primary responsibility is to coordinate the details of all Northview Students all-campus events.
MIT's (Most Important Tasks)
  1. Lead the Northview Students events pod and equip pod members to own significant elements of Northview Students events.

  1. Be the primary owner of the planning, strategy, and execution of all Northview Students all-campus events, while collaborating with the Environments Coordinator for direction in the areas of design, branding, and experience for these events to ensure consistency across all Northview Students Environments. (FF Events, Camps, Retreats, Worship Night, Leader Rally, etc.)

  1. Consistently communicate details (before, during and after events) to the Northview Students team to ensure the success of events and strive to continually improve all events.

  1. Collaborate effectively with other ministries for specific needs for Northview Students events and contribute to make Northview Students an amazing department to work with.

  1. All database and budget stewardship associated with student events

Essential Duties
  • Plan, organize, and execute all preparation details for central events/retreats

  • Recruit volunteers for central events/retreats

  • Manage details in database and run reports

  • All administrative tasks for Northview Students events

  • Mentor and disciple students

  • Teach at student ministry large group venues when requested

  • Ensure safety of students by identifying and implementing appropriate risk management and training practices

  • Pursue regular contact and relationship building with students and their parents

  • Be available to volunteers and students for prayer requests or any personal needs they have

  • Encourage Northview Students volunteers through cards, emails, and phone calls

  • Communicate with Northview Students Pastors any event updates, changes or ideas

  • Attend all Student Ministry staff Meetings and Huddles

  • Strive to improve personal and professional skills by looking for and participating in learning opportunities

  • Perform related duties as assigned by manager

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position works with volunteers and must have an understanding that volunteers are key to the ministry of the church. The employee must have a heart to recruit, train, equip and support volunteers in fulfilling their roles.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in related field

  • 3 years of related experience working with high school students at church, camp, school, or other related ministry.

  • Ability to effectively manage time

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives
