Dairy Consultant

We’re looking for a Dairy Consultant to partner with progressive dairy operations and help drive herd performance, nutrition efficiency, and overall farm profitability.

This role is hands-on and relationship-driven, working directly with dairy producers to turn data, nutrition, and management insights into real-world results.

What you’ll do

• Nutrition & Ration Management: Formulate and optimize dairy rations using industry tools and forage data to improve milk production, feed efficiency, and herd health
• On-Farm Consulting: Visit farms regularly to evaluate feeding programs, cow comfort, and overall performance, and provide practical, timely recommendations
• Data-Driven Insights: Analyze milk production, intake, and efficiency data to guide decision-making and track progress toward client goals
• Forage & Feed Strategy: Support silage management, feed sourcing, and cost-effective ingredient decisions
• Client Partnerships: Build strong, trusted relationships with dairy owners and managers and develop long-term herd improvement plans
• Collaboration: Work alongside internal teams, veterinarians, lenders, universities, and industry partners
• Business Growth: Support existing accounts while identifying opportunities to expand services and impact

What we’re looking for

• Degree in Dairy Science, Animal Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong understanding of dairy nutrition and production systems
• Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with producers and teams
• Comfortable using ration software, Excel, and data tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a field-based role
