Transformer Tanking Technician/Pipefitter

Due to the growth of our business, we have opening Tanking Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have mechanical background, proficient in using hand, power and measuring tools.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to perform final assembly and tanking activities.

  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.

  • Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system.

  • Install supports, valves, piping and controls systems.

  • Test piping for leaks using testing equipment.

  • Plan and implement solutions to mechanical problems with Supervisor’s help.

  • Complete work within expected periods of time.

  • Work safely, using all safety equipment supplied.

  • Communicate well with colleagues and supervisors.

  • Complete shop records accurately.

  • Follow all general company policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in manufacturing.

  • Ability to communicate in English (spoken, read/write)

  • Perform work based on general manufacturing instructions.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal technical direction and supervision.

  • Ability to read drawings and understand 2D & 3D sketches.

  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks, with good hand-eye co-ordination.

  • Manual dexterity, work from heights and ability to stand for extended periods.

  • General use of hand and power tools.

  • Climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift minimal to heavy materials.

  • Forklift and/or overhead crane operation experience an asset.

Working Hours:

Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4pm , Friday 7am - 1:30pm 

Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday 4pm-2:30am  

Salary: $24.33-$29.31
