Job description

Overview

Join the Northern States Development team on our Madison Station project as an Assistant Superintendent assigned to completing the Clubhouse Building. Reporting to the General Superintendent, you will support day-to-day operations on your building, ensuring safety compliance practices and helping deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. This is a great opportunity for an early-career construction professional to build hands-on experience under the guidance of a General Superintendent while growing toward greater ownership over time.

Responsibilities

  • Track and help maintain the construction schedule for your building.
  • Coordinate daily with subcontractors, crew members, and vendors working on your building to meet schedule.
  • Communicate regularly with the Project Manager on schedule status, progress, and any issues on your building.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for your building to help verify accuracy and support smooth construction workflows.
  • Support the General Superintendent in enforcing OSHA safety regulations and federal construction safety standards to help maintain a safe job site.
  • Monitor daily construction progress on your building, support quality control inspections, and flag issues to the General Superintendent for corrective action.
  • Help maintain project documentation for your building, including daily reports.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in construction, construction management, or a related field (internships and co-ops count).
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Projects.
  • Basic understanding of construction regulations including OSHA standards; OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, with a willingness to coordinate with crews, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Degree or coursework in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required with relevant experience.

This role is ideal for motivated early-career professionals looking to grow into a construction leadership career. Working closely with a General Superintendent on a single building gives you focused, hands-on mentorship as you build your skills. We value energetic individuals who thrive in collaborative settings and are committed to delivering excellence on every project stage. Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to building safely, efficiently, and with precision!
