Work Environment

The work environment at Northern Care Hospital is fast-paced and collaborative, designed to facilitate communication between medical staff and support teams. As a Physician Assistant, you will work primarily during standard hours from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history collection and physical examinations to develop accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and recommending lifestyle changes essential for patient health.
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, injections, and wound care, while assisting physicians with more complex medical interventions.
• Provide patient education related to preventive care, chronic disease management, and health-promoting lifestyle choices, tailored to individual needs.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, coordinating care with physicians, nurses, and specialists to improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and providing a clear overview of patient progress.
• Stay informed of the latest evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines to ensure high-quality patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals of all ages, with an array of health concerns ranging from routine checkups to complex chronic illnesses. Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and unrestricted Maryland PA license, or eligibility for licensure.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
• Proficiency in EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Exceptional clinical, diagnostic, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in primary care, internal medicine, or an emergency setting.
• Hands-on experience with chronic disease management, particularly in conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care.

Compensation and Benefits
