Position Summary


Nola Bank is seeking an experienced, customer-focused, and results-driven Senior Universal Banker to support both branch operations and customer relationship development. Reporting directly to the Chief Banking Officer, this individual will be responsible for opening and servicing deposit accounts, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting the daily operational needs of the retail branch.


This role combines customer-facing sales, account opening, and retail operations responsibilities in a de novo community bank environment. The Senior Universal Banker will play a key role in building strong customer relationships, driving deposit growth, supporting branch efficiency, and ensuring a high-quality banking experience for individuals and small businesses.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts, ensuring a smooth and compliant account opening experience.
  • Assist customers with identifying appropriate banking products and services, including checking, savings, CDs, and other deposit solutions.
  • Process teller transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and cashier’s checks.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by building strong relationships and responding promptly to customer needs and inquiries.
  • Support branch operations, including cash balancing, vault responsibilities, ATM servicing, and daily operational procedures.
  • Identify customer needs and refer lending, treasury management, and other banking solutions as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, CIP, OFAC, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist with account maintenance, documentation updates, and resolution of account-related issues.
  • Support branch opening and closing procedures and maintain operational accuracy and controls.
  • Participate in community engagement and represent Nola Bank in local outreach activities as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products, services, systems, and policies to provide accurate and effective customer support.
  • Contribute to branch deposit growth and overall customer satisfaction goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Retail Banking team and overall bank objectives.


Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of retail banking or financial services experience.
  • Experience opening consumer and business deposit accounts required.
  • Strong understanding of retail banking operations and deposit products.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Proficiency with banking systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital banking platforms.
  • Ability to handle confidential customer information with professionalism and discretion.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in a community bank or de novo bank environment.
  • Strong knowledge of deposit products, retail banking operations, and branch procedures.
  • Experience with cross-selling banking products and identifying customer needs.
  • Familiarity with BSA/AML compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience as a Teller, Personal Banker, or Universal Banker.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
