Job description

Are you looking for your next opportunity as a Physical Therapist where you can be part of a compassionate, patient-focused care team? At NMC Health, were proud to lead the way in award-winning, nurse-driven healthcare throughout the Wichita Metro Area.

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist (PRN) to join our Inpatient Therapy Team at NMC Health. In this hospital-based role, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality therapy services to patients in an Inpatient setting. Your expertise and compassionate care will support recovery and improve quality of life for our patients as they heal.

Sign-On Bonus eligible.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating patients and developing individualized treatment plans

  • Providing evidence-based physical therapy services to inpatients and other designated levels of care

  • Supervising and guiding supportive staff and therapy students

  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Documenting treatments, progress, and care plans in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Participating in safety procedures, quality improvement activities, and department initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program

  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Kansas.

  • Must have, or immediately obtain Basic life support (BLS) certification. Must maintain BLS certification
  • Previous inpatient or hospital experience preferred, but not required

  • Member of APTA and/or KPTA preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must know principles and practice of Physical Therapy; be familiar with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics; be familiar with department/organization policies, procedures and regulations; be aware of inter-department/organization communications; be able to apply supervision and management techniques

  • Must be able to apply the theory of physical therapy; have the ability and competency to operate equipment of their position; be able to perform technical procedures; be able to speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; demonstrate supervision and management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
