JOB TITLE: Continuous Improvement Technician
DIVISION: Production Support
LOCATION: Poseyville, IN
REPORTS TO: Cole Eckert, Director of Production Support
What You Will Do:
The Continuous Improvement Technician works directly on the shop floor to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements across NIX Industrial. This position partners with shop leadership and team members to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, standardize best practices, and strengthen safety and quality. The ideal candidate will take a hands-on, collaborative approach to solving problems and turning improvement opportunities into measurable results.
How You Will Do It:
â–ª Observe shop-floor processes to identify waste, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
â–ª Support and lead Kaizen events, improvement projects, and root-cause problem-solving efforts.
â–ª Develop, test, implement, and evaluate process improvements using measurable results.
â–ª Apply continuous improvement principles and tools, including 5S, standard work, visual management, waste elimination, error-proofing, and QRM.
â–ª Create, update, and maintain execution standards, visual job aids, and process documentation.
â–ª Collect and analyze production data, including cycle time, downtime, scrap, and throughput, to identify opportunities and measure results.
â–ª Train and coach team members on new processes, tools, and continuous improvement concepts.
â–ª Support 5S audits and improvement efforts across NIX shop locations.
â–ª Partner with shop leadership, Facilities amp; Maintenance, Safety, and Production Support to implement sustainable improvements.
â–ª Track improvement projects and communicate progress, challenges, and results to leadership.
â–ª Share successful improvements and best practices across NIX shop locations.
The Position Requires:
â–ª Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, standard work, waste elimination, and root-cause problem solving.
â–ª Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to turn observations and data into practical improvements.
â–ª Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train, coach, and collaborate with team members at all levels.
â–ª The ability to build strong working relationships and gain buy-in when implementing changes.
â–ª Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
â–ª A hands-on, action-oriented approach with the willingness to spend the majority of the workday on the shop floor.
â–ª The ability and willingness to travel between NIX shop locations as needed.
