Company Description Nicole Michael Designs, Inc. is seeking a talented, motivated, and detail-oriented Intermediate Interior Designer to join our luxury residential design firm based in Pasadena, CA.


Our firm specializes in high-end, custom residential projects tailored to each client’s taste and lifestyle. Team members collaborate closely with clients, vendors, and contractors to deliver cohesive sophisticated design concepts from initial idea through completion. The studio values creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail.


Role Description This position requires a designer who is organized, technically proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp, and comfortable working with the Principal Designer and Senior Designers to develop and execute highly detailed plans, renderings and designs. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in luxury residential design with comprehensive understanding of residential architecture, construction, millwork, cabinetry and material finishes.


This on-site role in Pasadena, CA involves producing accurate construction drawings, furniture layouts, elevations, fixture layouts, lighting and finish plans; selecting FF&E, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and maintaining project documentation and schedules. The designer will attend site visits, measure spaces, verify conditions, and assist with installations and styling to ensure design integrity. The role also includes participating in client meetings, revising designs based on feedback, and supporting general studio operations as needed.


Qualifications

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and Adobe Creative Suite or presentation tools.
  • Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to create mood boards, drawings, and clear presentations.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with clients, team members, and external partners.
  • Relevant education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field; prior studio or firm experience at the junior to intermediate level is preferred.
