Project Architect (Architect II / Architect III)

Location: South Carolina

A respected and growing architecture firm specializing in civic, institutional, and mission-critical facilities is seeking a Project Architect to join its collaborative team. This opportunity offers direct mentorship from firm leadership, exposure to all phases of project delivery, and a clear path for long-term growth and leadership.

Unlike larger firms where responsibilities may be narrowly focused, this role provides the opportunity to work on diverse projects, interact directly with clients, and contribute meaningfully to project success from concept through construction.

What You'll Do

• Manage and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously across various phases of design and construction
• Develop construction documents and technical detailing
• Participate in planning, programming, design, and construction administration
• Coordinate with engineers, consultants, clients, and project stakeholders
• Conduct research, solve technical challenges, and proactively contribute solutions
• Collaborate closely with firm leadership and project teams
• Assist in mentoring and supporting less experienced team members

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
• Minimum 3+ years of professional architectural experience in an office environment
• Proficiency in Revit
• Strong understanding of construction documentation, detailing, and building systems
• Working knowledge of building codes and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure
• NCARB record or ability to obtain licensure in South Carolina
• Experience with institutional, educational, civic, healthcare, commercial, or public-sector projects
• Experience with construction administration
• Specification writing experience
• LEED accreditation or interest in sustainable design credentials
