Position Summary

Newco Welding is seeking a skilled Shop Welder / Fabricator to join our in-shop team in Baytown, Texas. The right candidate can read drawings, measure and lay out work accurately, cut material with an oxy-acetylene torch, and perform MIG welding using 70S-6 hardwire and flux-core processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-shop fabrication and welding work.
• Complete MIG welds using 70S-6 hardwire and flux-core processes.
• Read and work from shop and fabrication drawings.
• Measure and lay out work accurately with a tape measure.
• Cut material with an oxy-acetylene torch.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on shop welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency with MIG welding, including 70S-6 hardwire and flux-core.
• Ability to read drawings, use a tape measure accurately, and work to specified dimensions.
• Ability to cut material safely with an oxy-acetylene torch.
• Attention to accuracy, quality, and safe work practices.
