About This Role

The ideal candidate will coordinate curriculum and manage day-to-day classroom operations to create a safe and stimulating environment where children can thrive. Understanding children's developmental stages is crucial to ensure that each child's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs are met. Effective communication with both children and adults is essential to guide teacher assistants, address parental concerns, and provide a supportive learning environment.


What You'll Do
  • Develop engaging activities that align with early learning standards and adapt to children's developmental stages.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by modeling and coaching teaching staff.
  • Plan activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive growth in children, encouraging active participation and exploration.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and state regulations.
  • Establish a healthy classroom environment by maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, ensuring they follow planned activities and adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Accurately maintain records, forms, and files.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and improve program quality.

Requirements
  • Basic computer skills and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • A high level of energy and the ability to collaborate with staff, children, and parents to foster a positive team environment.
  • A deep understanding of child development principles.
  • Able to obtain Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Able to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands, fingers, and tools, talk and hear; occasional kneeling, bending, squatting, and crawling may also be required.
  • Visual acuity, including the ability to see up close, at a distance, perceive colors, and have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
