RN/ LPN Medication and Treatment Nurse
Position Type: RN/LPN - Full-Time/Part-Time
New Hope Village is committed to providing exceptional care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an Intermediate Care Facility/Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/ID) setting. Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Medication and Treatment Nurse to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring safe and effective medication administration, providing ordered treatments, and conducting medication audits and education.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
- Oversee and administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance.
- Monitor residents for medication efficacy and side effects, working with RN Coordinators to adjust care plans as needed.
Auditing:
- Conduct regular audits of medication administration records and treatment documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Education and Training:
- Provide training and ongoing education for CMAs on medication administration, policies, and best practices.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing assessments, medication administration, and treatment interventions.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Unencumbered RN or LPN licensure in Iowa.
- Experience in ICF/ID settings or with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medication management and nursing practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record and the ability to obtain a chauffeur's license.
