About the Role

As a Barista / FOH Associate, you’ll be an essential part of the New General guest experience. Your role is all about providing warm, attentive hospitality while ensuring the café operates smoothly. From greeting guests with genuine warmth to maintaining a clean and organized environment, you’ll play a key part in delivering the exceptional service and quality we’re known for.

This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café setting, enjoys working with a team, and has a passion for food and coffee. With at least 1 year of experience coffee experience in a café / restaurant, hospitality setting.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Hospitality

• Greet every guest with warmth and genuine hospitality.
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly service and answer questions about our menu and offerings.
• Accurately take orders using the POS system and ensure food and beverages are presented to New General standards.
• Create a welcoming environment that encourages guests to return.

Café Operations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked front-of-house throughout your shift.
• Support opening, daily operating, and closing procedures.
• Restock supplies, retail items, and service areas as needed.
• Assist with running food, clearing tables, and resetting the café.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.

Product Knowledge & Quality

• Develop a strong understanding of our menu, ingredients, and dietary offerings.
• Confidently explain menu items and accommodate common guest questions.
• Ensure beverages are prepared and presented to our high standards.

Teamwork & Communication

• Work collaboratively with the FOH, BOH, and leadership teams to ensure smooth service.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates.
• Be ready to jump in wherever needed during busy periods.
• Receive and apply coaching and feedback to improve daily performance.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Comfort with bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the café during a shift.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
