Role Description This is a contract, on-site Framer role based in Jacksonville, FL. The Framer will construct, install, and repair wood and metal framing for walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components according to blueprints and project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting materials, assembling and securing framing, installing sheathing, and coordinating with site supervisors and other trades to maintain workflow and safety standards. The Framer will use hand and power tools, ensure work is aligned, level, and square, and follow all building codes and company safety procedures. The role may also involve assisting with material loading, site preparation, and minor adjustments or repairs as projects progress.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in residential or commercial framing, including reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Proficiency using common construction tools (e.g., saws, nail guns, levels, tape measures) and working with wood and light-gauge metal framing materials.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices, OSHA guidelines, and safe operation of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting materials, working at heights, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to the job site in Jacksonville, FL and ability to work scheduled hours as defined by project needs.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, general contractors, and other trades on-site.
  • Previous framing or carpentry apprenticeship, trade school training, or equivalent on-the-job experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and construction standards in Florida is an advantage.
