About the Role

The Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives within the 1GX ERP modernization program.


This role will focus on managing complex enterprise projects spanning:

Contract-to-Pay

Procure-to-Pay

Source-to-Contract

HRIS Modernization

Budgeting & Forecasting Systems

SAP-Based Enterprise Transformation Initiatives


The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in enterprise project management, ERP transformation, procurement systems modernization, stakeholder engagement, executive reporting, governance, budgeting, risk management, and public-sector delivery environments.


Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Project Management & Delivery

• Lead and manage complex enterprise-wide procurement system modernization initiatives across the 1GX ERP platform

• Manage projects involving procurement transformation, HRIS modernization, budgeting, forecasting, and enterprise business process improvements

• Coordinate multiple concurrent projects, resources, vendors, and governance activities

Procurement & ERP Transformation

• Manage enterprise procurement transformation initiatives spanning:

– Contract-to-Pay

– Procure-to-Pay

– Source-to-Contract Processes

• Support ERP modernization initiatives designed to improve compliance, operational efficiency, analytics, and enterprise purchasing capabilities

• Collaborate with business and IT leadership teams to support enterprise architecture alignment and business process transformation

Project Planning, Governance & Reporting

• Develop and maintain:

– Project Charters

– Business Cases

– Briefing Notes

– Status Reports

– Risk Logs

– Dashboards

– Project Closure Reports

• Present project updates and executive briefing materials to Steering Committees and Ministerial-level stakeholders

• Manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies

Stakeholder & Executive Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with executive leadership, project sponsors, vendors, business stakeholders, and technical teams

• Facilitate executive-level decision-making and escalation management

• Ensure effective communication throughout project lifecycles, including status updates, issue management, and stakeholder engagement

Change Management & Team Leadership

• Provide leadership and guidance to project resources and cross-functional delivery teams

• Support change management, communication planning, and organizational readiness activities

• Establish work priorities, monitor delivery progress, and drive successful project outcomes

Public Sector & Enterprise Delivery

• Ensure compliance with Government of Alberta enterprise architecture, governance standards, and project delivery methodologies

• Collaborate with PMO teams to define and maintain project standards, governance frameworks, and delivery best practices

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:

– Information Technology

– Computer Science

– Mathematics

– Engineering

– Related Discipline

• Active PMP or PgMP Certification (or equivalent) required

Project Management Experience

• 12 years of experience in Project Management roles leading enterprise initiatives

• 12 years of experience defining project scope and goals with business stakeholders

• 12 years of experience developing enterprise project deliverables and executive reporting documentation

• 12 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently

Stakeholder & Leadership Experience

• 10 years of experience developing and maintaining executive-level stakeholder relationships

• 10 years of experience making recommendations on complex business and technical issues

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact across diverse stakeholder groups

• Ability to lead daily face-to-face meetings with clients and technical teams

Enterprise Delivery & Methodologies

• 10 years of experience working with Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery methodologies

• 10 years of experience leading large-scale custom software development projects in enterprise environments

• 10 years of experience working within enterprise architecture environments

• 10 years of experience implementing enterprise IT solutions across multiple teams and organizations

Public Sector Experience

• 10 years of experience working in or for the public sector

• Senior leadership experience supporting public-sector organizations with strong stakeholder and governance understanding

• Experience with SAP ERP modernization initiatives

• Experience supporting procurement and HRIS transformation programs

• Experience with budgeting and forecasting systems within SAP environments

• Experience presenting to executive steering committees and senior government leadership

• Experience within large-scale enterprise transformation programs similar to 1GX


Work Environment & Additional Details

• Work must be performed from within Canada due to network and security requirements

• Standard work schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM Alberta Time

• Hybrid work model with onsite presence expected approximately 5 days per month

• Criminal background check required prior to onboarding

• Mandatory security and FOIP training required
