Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Lafayette, IN

Job Description:
- Executing key project tasks to support the component design engineer
- Key point of contact for print work (detailing & releasing) and CAD design work
- Supporting new component design with APQP collaboration work with external suppliers
- Helping to ensure customer success by correcting product problems
Typical task breakdown:
Print work, component modeling, APQP, TFC, tolerance stack-up, deviation investigation, parts inspection, etc.

- Strong personal initiative
- Organization / time management skills
- Communication
Technical Skills:
Required
- Basic understanding of gas and/or diesel engine operation
- Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Creo / Teamcenter knowledge
Desired:
- Strong data analysis skills
- Strong communication skills (ability to work with a global team)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well independently / collaborative member of a cross functional team
- Large gas and/or diesel troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of Caterpillar engine product configuration
