Locum Neonatologist Needed In Redding, CA
A Level III NICU is seeking ongoing monthly locum coverage. Role includes daily NICU rounding and call coverage. No newborn nursery rounding.
Practice highlights include a Level III NICU, Level II Trauma Center, and an average NICU census of 7–12 patients per day. Call-back is required but rare (average 4.7 hours). No APP support. Supports FP residents, Pediatric Hospitalists, Laborists. EMR: Cerner Care B.
Coverage needed: January 11–20 (ending 21st AM) and 11th–20th (ending 21st AM) every month ongoing. Daily NICU rounding + call coverage. No nursery rounding.
Required procedures include ventilatory assistance including ETT CPAP, nasal CPAP >4 hrs or >6 cm H₂O or FiO₂ >0.60, surfactant (beyond first dose), pressor administration, FiO₂ >0.60, PaCO₂ >50 on 2 ABGs, Art line / central line, chest tube, TPN Hyperalimentation, exchange transfusion, GA <32 weeks / BW <1600g.
Candidate requirements include BC/BE Neonatal–Perinatal Medicine, active state license, BLS, NRP, DEA, CCS paneled provider – REQUIRED at submission, recent Neonatology experience (not Pediatrics), clean malpractice, must be active staff at a TJC-accredited facility.
