Job description
Join one of Oahu’s legacy hospice providers. Navian Hawaii is a local non-profit organization that is driven by our mission to provide care for every stage of life. More than a healthcare job, this is a position with a higher purpose – where you impact people's lives on a personal, human level. Navian Hawaii is seeking a physician for a flexible, contract-based hospice and palliative role. You will guide patients and their family on their journey, delivering comfort and support with a caring heart, replacing fear with hope, helping them find the beauty and joy in every moment, and providing each person with the kindness and dignity they deserve.
What you'll do
- Serve as complementary physician for hospice patients (home, facility, inpatient)
- Complete CTIs, face-to-face encounters, and related documentation
- Participate in IDG case discussions for your patients
- Participate in on-call coverage blocks
What we're looking for
- Active Hawaii medical license, DEA/NED registration
- Hospice/palliative experience preferred
- HPM board certification a plus
- Comfortable with independent clinical decision-making and minimal day-to-day oversight
Structure
- Per-visit/per-diem compensation, 1099 contractor
- No exclusivity requirement
Team Member Qualities
- Provides guidance to staff, problem solving support and demonstrates a commitment to quality and corporate accountability
- Actively participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in-service training, and other related activities
- Adheres to all policies, procedures and regulations regarding patient care, conduct, safety, fire, security, risk management and personnel policies
- Carries out duties and responsibilities of position in a manner that exemplifies excellent customer service
- Expected to participate in the Performance Improvement Program, Compliance Program, and to comply with Federal and State regulations governing hospice programs
- Adhere to the organization’s standards of conduct as a condition of continued employment
- Demonstrates good judgment in seeking and accepting guidance, facilitates clear and honest communication with other team members
- Demonstrates ethical conduct and judgment that is in harmony with the mission and values of Navian Hawaii
- Demonstrates ability to execute an effective, supportive, sensitive approach in response to the needs of staff and the patient and family
- Works harmoniously with a broad range of staff, volunteers, and the community as a representative of Navian Hawaii
