Job Summary
Nexus Disposal is seeking a Bilingual Collections Representative with a concentration in collections and customer retention. Must be able to research account activity and resolve past due accounts through extensive contact with customers. This position requires strong retention skills in order to resolve outstanding concerns and be the first point of contact for clients that wish to discontinue service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collections:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary.
- Initiates telephone and/or email contact with customers with amounts past due, determining reason and arranging for collection or adjustment to correct errors in accounts.
- Handles an estimated 80-100 outbound/inbound calls per day
- Negotiates payment plans with customers; follows guidelines for follow-up on payment plans.
- Resolves collection disputes; makes inquiries, researches, and communicates with customers.
- Maintains records of all delinquent accounts by logging collection notes.
- Works with customers in bankruptcy; follows procedures for recording and monitoring bankruptcies.
- Processes and resolves NSF transactions.
- Files legal documents and attends court proceedings as necessary
- Prepares correspondence and fulfills needs of existing customers that are at risk of cancelling services or have already requested cancellation.
- Addresses complaints with the goal of increasing satisfaction and circumventing cancellations.
- Performs severance activities after approvals; stop service, cancellation & container removal.
- Process and manage service agreements needing renewals and modifications.
- Gathers customer intelligence for customer service team.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends, competition, and new opportunities.
- Builds relationships and trust with customers.
