    Job description

NCCF is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and are seeking our first Major Gifts Officer (MGO), a relationship builder, storyteller, and strategic fundraiser who will help deepen NCCF's culture of philanthropy and expand private support for our mission. This is not about building something from the ground up. NCCF has generations of supporters, passionate donors, strong community partnerships, and incredible stories of impact. We are looking for someone who can cultivate those relationships, unlock opportunities, and connect people's passion with purpose.
    About the Role
The Major Gifts Officer will manage and grow a portfolio of current and prospective donors with the capacity to make leadership-level gifts of $10,000+. This position will focus on expanding individual giving, increasing unrestricted support, strengthening donor retention, and creating meaningful philanthropic partnerships. Working closely with the Director of Development and the Executive Director, the MGO will identify opportunities, build authentic relationships, and create personalized strategies that inspire transformational giving.
    Key Responsibilities
    Donor Relationship Management
    • Build and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.
    • Create individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans.
    • Engage donors through meaningful conversations, campus visits, impact stories, and mission experiences.
    • Strengthen relationships with existing donors while identifying opportunities for increased giving.

    Strategic Fundraising
    • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of making gifts of $10,000+.
    • Develop a moves management strategy to move donors from interest to investment.
    • Expand NCCF's individual giving pipeline with a focus on unrestricted support.
    • Partner with leadership and Board members to maximize philanthropic opportunities.

    Storytelling & Stewardship
    • Connect donors directly to the impact of their generosity.
    • Create meaningful engagement opportunities that highlight NCCF's programs and outcomes.
    • Represent NCCF as a passionate ambassador in the community.

    The Ideal Candidate
    You are someone who:
    • Believes relationships are at the heart of fundraising.
    • Loves connecting people to causes they care about.
    • Is a natural communicator and storyteller.
    • Understands that stewardship is just as important as the ask.
    • Is comfortable making face-to-face solicitations.
    • Enjoys building strategy, tracking progress, and celebrating results.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required; CFRE preferred.
    • 5 - 7+ years of progressive fundraising experience, with a focus on major gifts.
    • Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, business development, relationship management, or a related field.
    • Experience cultivating major gifts or high-level relationships preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage a donor portfolio and move relationships forward strategically.
    • Passion for NCCF's mission and commitment to supporting children, youth, and families.
    Why Join NCCF?
At NCCF, you are not just raising dollars- you are creating possibilities.
You will join a passionate team committed to ensuring that every child, youth, and family has the opportunity to thrive. With more than a century of impact and a strong foundation of community support, this role offers the opportunity to take something extraordinary and help it grow.
    Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
