Job Status: Full-time (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday)

Location: Madison, WI

Salary Range: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 based on qualifications and experience.


Position Description: 

NAMI Wisconsin’s CIT Program Coordinator will provide technical support and assistance for the NAMI Wisconsin office and the Wisconsin Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) and Crisis Intervention Partners (CIP) training programs. This position will focus on supporting programming, data collection, and presentations for CIT & CIP programs. This position includes, but is not limited to, developing and maintaining partnerships with community stakeholders such as law enforcement and correctional officers, family members, peers, mental health providers, NAMI Affiliates, schools, county human service workers, and more. This position will work closely with the NAMI Wisconsin CIT Program Director and be an instrumental part of the NAMI Wisconsin team and growth of the organization. 

This is not a remote position. This position will primarily work from our office in Madison, WI. This position will include travel with some overnight stays.


Responsibilities:

Program Support:

  • Coordinate NAMI training classes to be held at the NAMI Wisconsin office and statewide locations. Classes include NAMI Sharing Your Story with Law Enforcement and NAMI Wisconsin Hearing Voices.
  • Provide support and technical assistance for CIT & CIP Coordinators throughout the state which requires working closely with local NAMI affiliates and CIT & CIP teams.
  • Assist with CIT & CIP training data collection and organization.

Training Coordination:

  • Work collaboratively with CIT Program Director on training coordination of CIT & CIP related events including annual CIT Symposium, CIP Traveling Trainings, etc.
  • Participate in, and exhibit at, CIT & CIP related conferences and events.

NAMI Wisconsin Organization Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the NAMI Wisconsin team to assist in education events held throughout the state. 
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders and board of directors within specific committees:
  • Support staff on Wisconsin CIT Advisory committee and subcommittees
  • Support staff on Wisconsin Co-responder committee and subcommittees
  • Provide support and resources to individuals via phone calls and emails.
  • Other duties as needed to support the NAMI Wisconsin team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, social work, psychology, criminal justice, communication, or related field.
  • Familiarity with NAMI and knowledge of mental illness including issues facing individuals living with mental illnesses and their families.
  • Experience working in a team setting and with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Highly effective communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience with data collection and organization.
  • Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate large groups, including schedule training, event planning and coordinating logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Microsoft TEAMS.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, in-state travel & access to a car for use for work, a valid driver's license & proof of insurance are required.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience working with persons living with a mental illness or disability.
  • Preferred master’s degree in related area.
