Job description

Solar Energy Educator | SHINE Pro Care Team

S.H.I.N.E. Pros | MyShinePros.com
Glendale, AZ / Phoenix Metro | Hybrid + Remote-Friendly
Full-Time | Part-Time | Temporary | Seasonal

Ready to Do Something Different in Solar?

Millions of homeowners went solar.

Then the installation was finished, the salesperson disappeared, and many homeowners were left asking:

Why do I still have an electric bill?
Is my solar system actually working correctly?
Am I producing enough energy?
Am I on the right utility plan?
What am I supposed to do now?

That's where SHINE comes in.

We're building the SHINE Pro Care Team — a growing network of Solar Energy Educators who help existing solar homeowners understand what they own, what they're paying for, how their system is performing, and what options may be available to them.

We don't believe homeowners need another confusing solar pitch.

They need someone who can explain it.

If you're energetic, motivated, great with people, interested in solar, or simply looking for an opportunity where your communication skills and work ethic can actually take you somewhere — we want to meet you.

What Is a Solar Energy Educator?

A Solar Energy Educator is part customer care, part homeowner advocate, part solar professional, and part problem-solver.

You'll connect with existing solar homeowners virtually, over the phone, digitally, and throughout local Phoenix-area communities.

Your job is simple:

Listen. Educate. Help.

You'll learn how to identify what homeowners are experiencing after solar installation, help them understand their utility bills and system performance, and connect qualified homeowners with a SHINE Solar Review.

Some team members may focus more heavily on customer care and virtual homeowner communication.

Others may thrive working directly within local communities as part of the SHINE Pro field network.

And some will do both.

We're looking for people who want flexibility, opportunity, and room to grow.

Already Have Solar Experience?

Perfect.

Maybe you've sold solar.

Maybe you've set appointments.

Maybe you've spent your days walking neighborhoods and talking to homeowners.

And maybe you're starting to wonder:

Do I really want to knock this many doors forever?

Your skills are valuable.

You already know how to communicate.

You already understand homeowners.

You already know what it takes to create a conversation.

Now imagine using those skills to become the person who actually understands what happens after the solar system gets installed.

Stop just talking about solar. Learn how to explain it.

SHINE gives experienced solar professionals an opportunity to expand their knowledge, strengthen their homeowner relationships, and grow into a different side of the solar industry.

No Solar Experience?

That's okay too.

We can teach solar.

We can't teach attitude, reliability, work ethic, or the ability to care about people.

SHINE provides on-the-job training designed to teach you how to understand and communicate:

  • Solar system basics
  • Utility bills
  • Solar production
  • Household energy consumption
  • Production vs. consumption
  • Utility rate plans
  • Common reasons homeowners still receive electric bills
  • Solar system underperformance
  • Battery storage
  • System updates
  • Homeowner education
  • Solar Review conversations
  • CRM and customer follow-up

You don't need to walk through the door knowing everything.

You need to walk through the door ready to learn.

What You'll Do

As a member of the SHINE Pro Care Team, responsibilities may include:

  • Connect with existing solar homeowners by phone, text, email, chat, and local community outreach
  • Serve as a first point of contact for homeowners looking for help with their solar system
  • Help homeowners schedule their SHINE Solar Review
  • Explain utility bills and basic solar concepts in everyday language
  • Help identify common post-installation concerns
  • Discuss production, consumption, utility costs, and homeowner concerns
  • Educate homeowners about potential next steps
  • Learn battery storage options and basic system-update concepts
  • Follow up with homeowners who have previously requested solar information or support
  • Maintain accurate homeowner records
  • Document conversations and appointments in our CRM
  • Coordinate with other members of the SHINE Pro Care Team
  • Participate in training and professional development
  • Represent SHINE professionally online, over the phone, and within local communities

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for people with personality.

People who can have a conversation.

People who aren't afraid of the phone.

People who can walk into a room and communicate.

People who like helping other people figure things out.

And people who want their performance to create opportunity.

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • Highly motivated
  • Personable and confident
  • Coachable
  • Reliable
  • Self-directed
  • Comfortable speaking with homeowners
  • Strong on the phone
  • Comfortable with technology
  • Able to learn new information quickly
  • Organized
  • Competitive without being pushy
  • Effective in a fast-paced environment
  • Interested in renewable energy, technology, customer care, or solar
  • Looking for advancement rather than simply another job

Experience in any of the following is helpful but not required:

  • Solar
  • Customer service
  • Appointment setting
  • Sales
  • Call centers
  • Home improvement
  • Roofing
  • Telecommunications
  • Hospitality
  • Client services
  • Community outreach
  • Field marketing

Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Flexible Opportunities

Life isn't one-size-fits-all.

Neither is SHINE.

We are currently considering candidates for:

  • Full-time
  • Part-time
  • Temporary
  • Seasonal
  • Hybrid
  • Remote-friendly roles
  • Phoenix Metro opportunities
  • Glendale-area opportunities
  • Day availability
  • Evening availability
  • Weekend availability

Whether you're looking to build a career or create additional income around your existing schedule, there may be a place for you on the SHINE team.

Compensation & Growth

SHINE is building a performance-driven organization where increased knowledge, responsibility, and results can create greater opportunity.

Depending on position and responsibilities, compensation may include:

  • Base and/or performance-based compensation
  • Performance bonuses
  • Appointment and production incentives where applicable
  • Referral opportunities
  • Flexible scheduling
  • On-the-job training
  • Professional development assistance
  • Advancement opportunities
  • Expanded responsibilities within the SHINE Pro network

Part-time flexibility. Serious growth potential.

For the right people, this isn't meant to be the final position.

It's meant to be the beginning.

Why SHINE?

Because getting solar installed shouldn't mean homeowners are left on their own afterward.

SHINE focuses on the part of the solar experience most companies forgot:

What happens after installation.

We're creating a new category of homeowner support centered around education, information, Solar Reviews, and long-term customer care.

Our Solar Energy Educators help homeowners understand:

What their solar system produces.

What their home consumes.

Why they may still have an electric bill.

What they can personally control.

And what their next step should be.

We're not trying to build another traditional solar team.

We're building SHINE.

And we're looking for people who want to grow with it.

This Probably Isn't for Everyone.

If you're looking for a position where you clock in, disappear for eight hours, and clock out...

This probably isn't it.

If you're motivated, curious, good with people, want flexibility, like being rewarded for performance, and want to get involved in a growing part of the solar industry...

We should talk.

Interviews Are Being Held This Week

We are actively expanding the SHINE Pro Care Team throughout the Phoenix Metro area.

Initial positions are limited, and interviews are currently being scheduled.

Don't overthink it.
